Fr. Ryan's sermon at All Saints' Episcopal Church on Sunday, February 16th was inspired and guided by the words of the Honus class. In preparation for Valentine's Day, the Honus Class answered the question: "What is love?" Their answers were so profound and amazing, Fr. Ryan utilized the students' thoughts on love to form his sermon entitled "Love is a Scary Trail to a Castle of Peace." Fr. Ryan would like to thank the Honus class for their thoughtful and inspirational words. He also extends a special thank you to Harper for inspiring the sermon title.

All Saints' Preschool visited the Lihue Airport Fire Rescue Station on Friday, January 24, 2014. Students enjoyed learning about the firefighters' jobs and got to walk through the fire station. While in the station, firefighters talked about 911 and students got to learn and tryout CPR on the station's dummies "Max." Our tour continued in the fire station's garage where students got to see the inside of a fire truck and watched as a firefighter put on their special fire suit to battle jet fuel fires that burn over 3,000 degrees hot. Finally, everyone got to see the fire truck spray gallons of water through its hydraulic water canon.
Mahahlo to the Lihue Airport Rescue Squad for opening their doors and sharing with All Saints' Preschool the life of a firefighter. |
